Goals and Motivation

In the Eat Smart, Get Moving Personal Wellness program, participants will track physical activity and food choices in terms of "points." The focus is on energy balance between food and activities. As role models for America’s children, you and your team can set a good example by maintaining your own personal wellness.

Overall

2000 "minimum points" to be obtained through activity and food choices as outlined below:

Phase 1: September 18 – November 12, 2007

Your team’s Phase 1 goal is 300 points:

Healthy Meeting

Participants who serve healthy foods (such as those listed in your goals above) at meetings they host will receive an additional 10 points per meeting. Each team can achieve a maximum of 30 bonus points for healthy meetings in each phase (10 points are awarded per healthy meeting).(Available all phases)

Excerising together on two different days per week, beginning week 5 of Phase 1, 3 or more team members or all for teams of 2 (Oct. 16) (5 points)

Meeting together to discuss goals and strategies on one day in a given week, 3 or more team members or all for teams of 2 (5 points) (Phase 2 and Phase 3)

Participant receives an additional "Dairy Point" each day that he/she gets a total of 3 or more servings of Dairy (3-A-Day) (Phase 1 only) 

Participant receives an additional 5 "Dairy Points" each week that he/she reaches the 3-A-Day of Dairy goal on at least 4 out of 7 days. (Beginning Week 6 of Phase 2, December 18)

Additional 5 Dairy Points each week he/she reaches daily goal on at least 5 out of 7 days (week 7 of Phase 3, March 4)

Participant receives an additional 5 "Fruit/Vegetable Points" each week that he/she reaches the daily goal on at least 4 out of 7 days. (Phase 3)
